Thursday August 20 the Maui Jim Maka Maka run for Friendship House takes place.

Post race party includes Old Chicago pizza and music by The Willies.

Anybody interested in running? I can hook you up with a grass skirt!!!!

Hotties – Steamboat Classic Race 06-20-2009

Congratulations 2009 Hotties – You did a fantastic job at the Steamboat Classic this year.

Of course it was warm and humid – that’s the STEAM in Steamboat…

I was able to find some results based on bib numbers and names that I knew.

Sorry Joe and John – too generic of names to pin you down!

And now for the continuing the momentum portion of the blog. We can continue to run as an unsanctioned group of FRIENDS on Wednesday evenings. Legal disclaimer: If you continue to visit the www.runninghotties.com website and/or show up to run, you do not hold IVS, Building Steam, or any individual “Hottie” responsible for injury, dismemberment, a bad mood, blisters, a mismatched outfit, or death. We are just a group of friends getting together to run In other words if you stub your toe, fall and break your nose, etc., you do not hold anybody responsible. Besides, I’m the klutz – it’s likely to be me that falls!

We will have people of all speeds present, from fast, to slow, even walkers. Feel free to recruit some friends to join us. Dinner is usually on the agenda, and is up for a vote. We generally run 2-4 miles depending on the heat; that too is up for a vote!

We will take a week off and resume in July:

We begin running at 6:01 p.m.

July 1 – Peoria Heights Tower

July 8 – Race for the Cure Classic course. Meet in front of Jalapenos in Metro Center

July 15 – Gateway Building

July 22 – Peoria Heights Tower

July 29 – RFTC – Jalapenos

Dear 2009 Hotties! What a fun group we had this year – THANK YOU – It’s such a thrill to be a volunteer in such a worthwhile organization. We hope to have many of you back in 2010.

We hope you’ll celebrate with us at Avanti’s in East Peoria this Wednesday after the run. It’s time to share some memories and enjoy some pasta before the race on Saturday.

Thank you to Cameron for the photographic support over the past several weeks and tech support over the past few years. We could not have this Running Hotties web site without your mad skills.

Brian – you’ve been around since the Hottie phase began around 2000. We’ve shared some high highs and low lows over the years. Thanks for being there for me, buddy! Best of luck on your upcoming marriage to Laura. Love you both!

Amy – Another long-time Hottie and good friend. We’ve had some great times and hilarious experiences together. I adore you and Shotgun. You really work well together… for accountards. xoxo

Reliable Rob – Your magnetic Hottie-ism had us at “Hello”… We knew we had to bring you into the leadership fold because you would do anything for us. Great things are happening for you and Miss Robin, and we couldn’t be happier!
